2027 Quilt Show - Judging
As you read in last month’s Pines & Needles, we are moving forward with the 2027 Quilt Show. And… we will have a new-to-us Quilt Show Judge with Julie Curry.
So, pull out your unfinished quilts or continue to work on current work and get it finished to show off at our quilt show. And yes, we are OLD SCHOOL: You will have to submit a paper copy of the entry form (and judging form as needed) for each quilt submitted. Plus, EVERY entry to the quilt show needs a photograph so that our designer can create the beautiful layout we are used to. Again, ALL quilts to be entered into our show need an entry form and photograph - including challenge quilts.
A few minor changes were made to the judging categories. But as always, feel free to text, email, or call me if you have any questions (my info is on the forms).

After Party
We changed the name! Our evening party has not been a reveal of the awards for some time and this year it’s been moved to Saturday evening. So…”After Party”!
For the first time in recent memory, the last session of Empty Spools overlaps with our quilt show and Saturday is their free night. We are inviting the Session 5 Empty Spools students to this party to see the show along with MPQG members, partners, friends.

The Monterey Peninsula Quilters Guild will hold its 46th Annual “Quilts by the Bay” quilt show at Chautauqua Hall, at the corner of 16th Street and Central, in Pacific Grove on Friday, May 1, Saturday, May 2 & Sunday, May 3, 2026. The hours on Friday and Saturday are 10:00 am to 5:00 with an After Party on Saturday till 6:30. Sunday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Open to the public. Admission is $10; people under 18 are free when accompanied by an adult.
There will be over 200 quilts on display at the MPQG Quilt Show. The quilts range in size from mini to bed sized and vary in a wide range of styles including traditional, modern, and art quilts. Viewers can vote for their favorite quilt. There is mini quilt raffle and a room full of fabrics for sale.
The quilt show coincides with Pacific Grove’s annual Good Old Days on May 2nd and 3rd.
