MPQG annually awards grants to other community groups. The grants are small (between
$150 and $250). They are awarded to groups which focus on providing educational and creative
programs that preserve the heritage of quiltmakers and textile arts, promote excellence in quilt design and craftsmanship,
and raise public awareness regarding the art of quilting. Grant requests are awarded each
January contingent on the availability of funds generated from MPQG's Winter Benefit Social.
Grant requests are accepted between August 1 and December 1.
We are asking the membership to use its knowledge of the community to help get the word
out about this opportunity. Do you know of an organization that does good work in the area of quilt
making? What about an organization that would initiate a program if they had funding for supplies?
Contact Linda Phillips at 831-625-2981 or by email at clphil1940@aol.com and tell her about the
organization that you think might be interested in applying for a grant. Linda will send a letter and
Grant Request form to that organization inviting it to participate in our grant program.
