Meetings are held the first Monday of the month at the Pacific Grove Community Center, 515 Junipero Street (at 15th) in Pacific Grove, unless a change is published on this website or in the Newsletter. A social period begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. Directions.
Guests are always welcome and are asked to pay a $5 fee to attend the evening program.
MPQG Committee tables line the meeting room from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. These tables are staffed by the worker bees of the Guild including those from Workshops, Charity Quilts, Block of the Month, UFO Project (Un-Finished Objects), and Membership. They're ready to tell you what is happening.
Workshops are held several times each year. Knowledgeable quilting teachers present one or two-day workshops which are usually scheduled for the weekend before the General Meeting. Paid reservations are required.
Community Outreach efforts provide both neonatal and lap size quilts, plus heart-shaped pillows to several local non-profit organizations. At the general meeting, the Community Liaison committee member distributes packets of fabrics and patterns, which may be used by members to make the quilts. To learn more, go to Community Outreach.
The Grants Program awards small grants to groups which provide educational and creative programs that are consistent with the MPQG Purpose. Requests are accepted annually between August 1 and December 1 with the Grants awarded each January. To learn more, go to Grants.
The Library has a wonderful variety of quilt-related books available for perusal during the social period before the general meeting. Members may check out books and DVDs for a period of one month. The fine for an overdue item is $1.00 per month. A list of books is available at the library and online at Library.
Raffle Quilts are designed and made by member volunteers to raise funds to support the Guilds' activities. To see the current quilt, go to Raffle Quilt.
UFO Objects/Show and Tell is a time when members can show recently completed projects and previously unfinished objects. To learn more about this activity, go to UFO Resolutions.
Friendship Groups (see list below) are small groups that meet regularly, usually in a member’s home. This offers an opportunity for members to develop friendships while sharing skills and techniques with others. Activities may include making charity quilts, working on one’s own projects, group round robin quilts, or themed challenges. See list below.
